Tom Garfield & Molly Scanlan, Co-Founder of Brand New Notebook
Tom Garfield is a website designer, writer & developer. He’s the MD of Brand New Notebook, specialising in websites for expertise and content driven businesses.

Tom has been described (by himself) as the Christopher Nolan of websites, hoping people take this to mean a hands-on visionary with creative excellence, and not that his websites are confusing and take multiple attempts to understand.

Molly Scanlan is a web designer and developer based in Southeast London. She specialises in making low carbon websites for social enterprises and non-evil businesses.

She is also an event speaker, podcast guest-er, and writes a weekly newsletter that’s so short you will definitely read it.

Have a question?

Cowork Crew takes the best bits of coworking and networking and jumbles it together in a once-a-month 1 day event.

It’s all about that magic that happens when you bring freelancers and micro business owners together.

You can expect:

  • Friendly faces
  • Time to work & time to meet new people
  • An awesome speaker or a group session on a shared challenge
  • Cake!

We’re here for the self-employed, whatever title you give yourself!

If you run your own thing, with or without partner(s), you’ll fit right in.

The idea is to get us out of the home office/coffee shop/kitchen table and into a room full of lovely folk who get what it’s like to wear all-the-hats.

Of course! We're a super-welcoming bunch!

The 'why' behind Cowork Crew is to help the self-employed get out of the home office/coffee shop/kitchen table and do better because we have each other.

So the speaker topics and our general content will always be aimed at freelancers, founders and micro business owners.

But we love meeting new faces. And if you work from home and fancy a day's company you are very welcome to join us.

We get it, we work for ourselves for many reasons, including schedule flexibility.

Come for as much of the day as makes sense for you.

You can bring lunch with you, or take the day-out excuse to nip to a local lunch spot.

Make sure you leave some room, as we’ll have cake to pick us all up during that mid-afternoon slump!

The XCHG is a stunning coworking space with everything needed for a lovely day of coworking. There's lots of desk space, tea & coffee and social spaces.

There’s also all the normal stuff, like water and toilets.

You’re welcome to take a call during Cowork Crew day. You can tuck yourself slightly out of the ‘main’ space in the breakout space if you want to avoid sitting around others while chatting.

We don’t have a completely private space available (as in a completely separate room) however, so it’s probably not the best time to run a webinar!

The benefits of spending a day coworking together go well beyond getting work done.

Feel free to chat to anyone who has the vibe they’re up for it.

Or go to a social space to chat more in-depth if you'd like to.

No worries, life/clients/things happen! We offer refunds up to 24 hours before the event starts, no questions asked.

You bought your ticket through Eventbrite. Hop over to your Eventbrite account and request a refund and we'll do the rest.

If it isn't clear how to do this, here's Eventbrite's docs on how to request a refund.

You'll get all of your fee refunded, bar Eventbrite's ticketing fee.

XCHG Spaces is a short walk from multiple underground stations, including Liverpool Street, Bank, Aldgate and Monument.

If you need further help, Transport for London offers a journey planner. The full address is XCHG Spaces, 7th Floor, 22 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4BQ.
