Mission Possible: How to Find your Business Purpose

Lewis has seen a lot of mission statements. Most of them are useless.

In this talk Lewis will show you the difference between a mission statement and an actual mission, why it matters, and how to write one that you will actually use.

In this session we will cover vision, values, and how they all fit together.

You will leave with something real. Or at least a very good first draft.

Your hosts

Bhavini Lakhani & Stacey Chandler
Bhavini is a brand and marketing designer who believes great design is all about the thoughtful details. Since moving from the corporate world to start B81 Designs, she’s focused on creating intentional, high-impact branding and marketing collateral that proves professional design doesn't have to be stiff or boring.

A fan of clean white space and bold typography, Bhavini loves making the design process collaborative and fun for clients and fellow solo founders. Based in Milton Keynes, she’s a proud solo-founder and parent who’s mastered the art of delivering high-end work alongside a busy family life.

She loves trading the home office for a day of coworking, and is always up for a chat about minimalist layouts, coffee, and cake (specifically pistachio tiramisu) or the beautiful, chaotic reality of the self-employed parenting juggle!

Stacey is a female freedom & empowerment coach based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Yes big rebellion energy can absolutely come from a small town.

Obsessed with coffee, cake, notebooks she doesn’t technically need, wearing whatever the hell she wants, & swearing at appropriate & inappropriate moments.

She has a passion for working with women to connect them deeply to themselves & the full colour life they desire. Stacey works with women to help them unpick performative behaviours & conditioned living women are taught is necessary. Making all the space for wild freedom! She helps women build self-trust, boundaries, emotional capacity & the kind of freedom that doesn’t require burning your whole life down. No one cheerleads, holds space, & sees women in their power quite like Stacey. And no one speaks bold truth quicker!

Stacey is all in on coworking, connection, & questioning some of the rules we’ve been taught to live by.

Have a question?

Cowork Crew takes the best bits of coworking and networking and jumbles it together in a once-a-month 1 day event.

It’s all about that magic that happens when you bring freelancers and micro business owners together.

You can expect:

  • Friendly faces
  • Time to work & time to meet new people
  • An awesome speaker or a group session on a shared challenge
  • Cake!

We’re here for the self-employed, whatever title you give yourself!

If you run your own thing, with or without partner(s), you’ll fit right in.

The idea is to get us out of the home office/coffee shop/kitchen table and into a room full of lovely folk who get what it’s like to wear all-the-hats.

Of course! We're a super-welcoming bunch!

The 'why' behind Cowork Crew is to help the self-employed get out of the home office/coffee shop/kitchen table and do better because we have each other.

So the speaker topics and our general content will always be aimed at freelancers, founders and micro business owners.

But we love meeting new faces. And if you work from home and fancy a day's company you are very welcome to join us.

We get it, we work for ourselves for many reasons, including schedule flexibility.

Come for as much of the day as makes sense for you.

You can bring lunch with you, or take the day-out excuse to nip to a local lunch spot.

Make sure you leave some room, as we’ll have cake to pick us all up during that mid-afternoon slump!

x+why Unity Place is a stunning workspace with everything needed for a lovely day of coworking. There's lots of desk space, tea & coffee and social spaces. There’s also all the normal stuff, like water and toilets.

You’re welcome to take a call during Cowork Crew day. You can tuck yourself slightly out of the ‘main’ space in the breakout space if you want to avoid sitting around others while chatting.

We don’t have a completely private space available (as in a completely separate room) however, so it’s probably not the best time to run a webinar!

The benefits of spending a day coworking together go well beyond getting work done.

Feel free to chat to anyone who has the vibe they’re up for it.

Or go to a social space to chat more in-depth if you'd like to.

No worries, life/clients/things happen! We offer refunds up to 24 hours before the event starts, no questions asked.

You bought your ticket through Eventbrite. Hop over to your Eventbrite account and request a refund and we'll do the rest.

If it isn't clear how to do this, here's Eventbrite's docs on how to request a refund.

You'll get all of your fee refunded, bar Eventbrite's ticketing fee.

Milton Keynes Central train station is a 2 minute walk away, and we're only 30 mins from Euston on the train.

If you are driving in, there is parking next to the building provided by Milton Keynes city council. Check out the Unity Place parking information for more details.
